Sunset Sequencer
The Bird's Big Nest
Narrative & Festival Context
Festival Program Note
Rigs catch gold; melody and memory turn the whole field toward home. A tall, gentle friend feathers the hi-hats and calls everyone “family.”
Lead Puppet Producer
Faderghost – If you ask Faderghost about Sunset Sequencer, he’ll tell you he built it like a front-of-house mix for one very tall, very nervous headliner. In his head, Big Bird wasn’t “doing a kids’ song,” he was closing a golden hour set the way the big trance guys do—only instead of lasers and pyro, the payload was home and sidewalk chalk and paper kites. Faderghost’s whole goal was to make the crowd feel like they were standing in front of a massive rig and a tiny stoop at the same time: big, wide festival low end and long, glowing tails on the synths, but with enough air in the mix that every “home!” lands like someone calling your name from down the block. He kept riding faders on imaginary kids’ voices in his head, carving space for the lyric so the nostalgia never got drowned by the drop. “It’s just a sunset rig,” he shrugs, “wires everywhere, crowd roaring—but if I’ve done my job, it still feels like one big nest.”
Track Dedication
This one was written for Catherine Greenfield, but it's for anyone who chased an entertainment life or who needs to hear it: you are built on a real, honest foundation, and that part of you hasn't gone anywhere. It's still there under the noise, under the grind that taught you to doubt everything, under the days that feel wrong-sized.
You’re still that person. You’re allowed to come back to the part of you that’s soft, sincere, and excited to share something—even if the industry taught you to keep your guard up.
