Narrative & Festival Context
Festival Program Note
Shortly after midnight a VIP headliner storms main; trance rules politely step aside for colossal wobble. The famous blue monster turns the field into a shared snack—om nom nom, delicious bass. (Festival Note, we don't care if he wants to do brostep, we just can't believe he agreed to come)
Lead Puppet Producer
Phase – Phase took Nom Nom Wub Wub partly as a dare to himself: could he take the loudest, silliest guest imaginable and still make a track that actually tells a story? On paper it’s “nursery rhymes meet brostep,” but he approached it like scoring a tiny monster’s hero’s journey—building the verses around small, bouncy crumbs of melody, then arranging the drops so every ridiculous “nom” and “wub” feels like a carefully timed chomp instead of pure noise. He spent a lot of late nights lining Cookie’s ad-libs up with the LFO moves, tightening the sidechain “bites” until the bass felt like it was literally chewing through the room, and kept one rule taped to the console: no joke without groove, no groove without heart. Under all the crunch and laser-lit cookie dust, Phase wanted the bridge line—“no one dances alone no more”—to hit like the real center of the song: a puppet rave where every messy, hungry little monster gets pulled into the circle. Loopette providing the secondary vocals for the track, helped make sure that happened.
Track Dedication
Dedicated to the talent buyers, bookers, and festival programmers—the people who spend months stitching together dream lineups, refreshing inboxes, chasing agents, and quietly freaking out when a big name actually says “yes.” You’re the ones who know exactly how many miracles it took to get that one artist on that one time slot… and then have to listen to the internet complain about it anyway.
This one’s especially for the days you’re proud of a carefully curated program and still get, “Why is there dubstep at a trance festival?” Sometimes the wild card is the whole point. Sometimes you need a wub wub moment in the middle of all the tasteful BPM grids. When the crowd roars, enjoy your victory lap and feel completely entitled to flip off the comment section while you dance.
