Beaker, This May Tingle
Narrative & Festival Context
Festival Program Note
A white-coat visionary with boundless confidence converts Stage C into a live-test bench and declares the crowd a peer-reviewed audience. Clipboards appear, wires multiply, and the lab assistant with the red tie and permanent panic is volunteered for “controlled chaos” in the name of science. Every squeal becomes data, every misfire becomes a feature—until one button press briefly folds reality into neon haze and the experiment is triumphantly logged as working as intended.
Lead Puppet Producer
Loopette – Loopette took the lead on this one because she could hear what Beaker was feeling underneath all the sparks. The brief was breakbeat, electro, glitch hop—sharp edges, popping transients, beautiful malfunctions—but she felt a quiet responsibility to make sure the chaos didn’t turn cruel. As Bunsen gleefully documented every squeal and misstep, Loopette softened the glitch just enough to let Beaker’s panic become rhythm instead of pain, tuning shrieks into percussion and clicks into something almost playful. She treated the lab like a padded room for bad ideas: still buzzing, still popping, but held together by a gentle melodic spine so the joke stays kind. In the end, it’s still a spectacular mess—but one where Beaker survives, the atoms mingle, and the malfunction feels more joyful than dangerous.
Track Dedication
Dedicated to me—because I still love music. I still love dancing. Sometimes that’s the entire point.

White coat, rubber gloves Clipboard stacked like doves Now Beaker, stand quite still Science needs your squeals (Mee, mee) Wires tangled on the floor Coffee rings on lab door Controlled chaos, that's the key Precision plus stupidity We're cooking up a beautiful malfunction Tiny little clicks in every function If it buzzes, pops, or starts to smoke That's the sound of a really good joke Dr. Honeydew says, "This may tingle" Flip the switch, hear the atoms mingle Jar of pickles labeled "tones" Laser pointed at the cones Perfect, now we add some fizz Purely for the science of it (Ah-ha) Beaker tap-dances on the board Every misstep gets recorded Remarkable, each terrified shriek Is peaking right where I like to be We're cooking up a beautiful malfunction Tiny little clicks in every function If it buzzes, pops, or starts to smoke That's the sound of a really good joke Dr. Honeydew says, "This may tingle" Flip the switch, hear the atoms mingle Observe when Beaker presses here The entire lab disappears (Mee?) Room resets in neon haze Clipboard shakes But he just says We're cooking up a beautiful malfunction Tiny little clicks in every function If it buzzes, pops, or starts to smoke That's the sound of a really good joke Dr. Honeydew says, "This may tingle" Flip the switch, hear the atoms mingle Mee, mee
